How many Bitcoin are in circulation?

Around 20,071,518 BTC are currently in circulation (that's the circulating supply, equal to the total supply). It's very close to the hard cap of 21,000,000 — only about 928,482 BTC remain to be mined.

That remaining supply gets released through mining block rewards, which are cut in half roughly every four years (the "halving"), so it's issued progressively slower over time. As of now, roughly 95.6% of all Bitcoin that will ever exist has already been mined.
